EMBARRASSING Blunder With The Most Comfortable Holster

Have you seen the new Sticky Holster belly band? The company sent me one to try and I’m excited to tell you all about it! However, don’t be put off by title of this post… make sure to read to the end!

I’m already a huge fan of Sticky Holster’s kydex insert, which I’ve used in purses and with my Lethal Lace holster. However, I also wanted to try their magazine sleeve, so they sent one of those as well.

Sticky Kydex Holster | Magazine Sleeve | Belly Band

The belly band is made of industrial strength plush elastic, so it’s strong and flexible. Four open pockets provide extra storage to secure essentials like a passport, credit cards, extra magazine, etc. The inside of the belt lined with patches of sticky material, which keeps the holster in place and prevents the belly band from riding up. It’s nice to have options, so I like that you can wear the band either around your hips or at your natural waist.

Even the sticky material that lined the belt was stretchy!

You can wear it at your hips or natural waist.

Personally, I prefer to wear belly bands low on my hips. With this holster, I wear a size small and wrap it to the tightest position, so the gun is pressed as close to my body as possible. I tend to wear belly bands tight in order to avoid printing, which makes my hips often hurt by the end of the day. However, the stretchy material in this belt moves so well with my body that I haven’t had that problem! Not only is it comfortable, but I’ve been able to style outfits around the holster with no printing.

I’ve worn this concealed carry holster several times with my SIG P365 in the Sticky Kydex Holster and the gun has stayed in place every time.

So you’re probably wondering… what was the embarrassing blunder?

I’m willing to share my story if it helps others avoid the same awkward scene.

It happened at the grocery store, where a young girl and I were both standing at the cheese counter. I had been wearing the holster only a couple of hours but right in the middle of browsing the cheese selection, I heard a clanging noise as something fell out of my shirt! I immediately knew what it was. My spare magazine had worked its way out of the magazine sleeve and crashed to the floor!

I don’t think I’ve ever picked something up so quickly in my life. I was too embarrassed to look back, so I don’t know if the girl realized what she just witnessed. I’m grateful I got out of the store without becoming a news story.

Why did this happen? To be fair, I didn’t have the magazine pushed all the way down in the sleeve. I thought if I let it stick out, it would be more accessible. When I returned home f rom the store I tried to recreate this episode by doing squats after I pushed the magazine all the way down in the pocket. After completing 170 squats and then sitting for two hours at a desk, the magazine finally did fall out again.

Next, I placed the magazine in the small pocket of the belly band to do the same test. This time it only took 44 squats to expel the mag. So, it seems like the sleeve was the best option after all.

This whole experience was eye opening but the most important thing to note is that my firearm stayed in place the entire time, including the duration of both sets of squats! Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s the most comfortable belly band holster I’ve tried. Just be cautious about carrying an extra magazine.
