2021 Style Trend - You'll Instantly Want To Use for Concealed Carry

I got to look through my mom’s collection of tea cups this week because she’s letting me borrow a few for a party I’m hosting.

Happy Fall my friends! I’ve been switching out my summer clothes for sweaters and boots. I always look forward to Autumn and the style changes it brings.

My approach has been more minimalistic lately (you can read more about my Capsule Wardrobe here), but I still enjoy playing with trends, so as fashion publications start making predictions for fall/winter style, I eagerly tune in!

Variations on Classic Style

When Bazar made their predictions a few months ago, I was drawn to what they call the Tailored-on-Tailored concept. This involves layering classic pieces with good tailoring. For example, a blazer over an oxford shirt, over a turtle-neck.

I’ve also been looking forward to how others might interpret the trend. One variation I’ve seen is called Tonal Tailoring - wearing suits and other tailored clothing in various shades of a certain color.

Even more interesting is the version rising to popularity with Gen Z - the Old Money Aesthetic. With East Coast prep school as an influence, it features oxford shirts, tennis skirts, sweater vests, loafers, strings of pearls, and of course, layering.

Honestly, these looks are more timeless than trendy and I’m a fan! Not only does it fit my love for classic style, but tailored pieces are great for concealment.

Concealed Carry Clothes – Structure & Layering

I created my own version of the look using clothes I already had in my closet, which you can see in the pictures above. First, let’s talk about the holster. I’m wearing the PHLster Enigma with their Skeleton Kydex holster. It’s highly customizable and you can read more about it HERE.

I layered a cozy neutral sweater over a white button up shirt. The oxford shirt material is slightly stiff, which is great for shielding your firearm and preventing printing.

*Pro tip – to keep clothing crisp, thoroughly spritz with starch spray before ironing.

On top of that, I wore a yet another layer – this grey herringbone blazer. With all these layers, there’s no chance of the gun showing through the clothes!

This dark pair of jeans dresses the look up a bit. I choose a high waisted pair with some stretch because for me, it makes carrying a gun more comfortable.

Next, I slipped on my favorite pair of heels and grabbed the classic concealed carry purse I co-designed with Cameleon Bags. Finally, I completed the look with accessories – you can’t go wrong with a string of pearls!

Chime-In!”
