How To Style A Sundress 3 Ways - Concealed Carry

Call me an optimist, but I don’t expect this strange season of stay-at-home orders and social distancing to last forever. I’m hopeful that family and friends will be gathering this summer and I’m really looking forward to picnics, parties, and having a reason to dress up a little! So today I’m sharing three ideas for styling a summer dress that I hope will inspire creativity with your summer wardrobe.

Start with a dress you absolutely love and that fits your personality and body type. I choose to style this dress because I love a good smocked top and it’s long enough for this concealed carry girl to easily hide a thigh holster.

Dress | Sandals (Similar)| Basket Purse | Sunglasses (another pair I like) | Sun Hat

Here are a few chic, summery accessories to accentuate your sundress. Shoes that lace up around the ankle are popular this season and I think these ankle strap sandals are a classic version of the trend. I was so excited to find this basket purse! To me it seems very lady like and gives me a picnic or farmer’s market vibe. If you’re going to be in the sun for very long, you could always wear a hat like this for stylish UV protection. I finished the outfit with gold layering necklaces and a pair of sunglasses to add some glamor. This pair of black shades is similar to what I’m wearing in the picture. I also just purchased this pair.

Dress | Sweater | Batwing Sweater| Loafers (Similar)| Woven Purse | Sunglasses

On chilly days, you can layer a thin knit sweater over your dress. I don’t have access to my full wardrobe because I’m temporarily quarantined with family. However, if I did, I’d show you my batwing sweater that fits more snugly around the waist. I’d also share different color combinations like a pink sweater or blue for a monochromatic look. The lightweight sweater I’m wearing is definitely going to be a staple for me but I had to tie a knot at the waist to achieve the right length.

This woven straw purse is another treasure for the season. I plan to use it both as a purse and a cute little bag for the pool. Once again, add sunglasses for a touch of glam then slide on a pair of loafers and you have an easy, put together look.

Dress | Sneakers | Tshirt (Similar) | Purse | Pearl Studs

I threw on sneakers and a t-shirt and instantly felt sassy, sporty and ready to move! It’s funny how a few accessories can change, not only your look, but also the way you feel. I think this outfit would be great for chasing my two-year-old niece around the park.

Pearl stud earrings and this purse would be a nice addition. I have this concealed carry bag in black but wanted to show you this lighter color. I’ve been so attracted to the combination of grey and gold lately, plus it ties in with the gold stripes on my shoes.
